After setting off, within a few hours we encountered a huge pod of dolphins, a great omen.
Africa is just over 200 miles from Portugal, but what a difference it makes. Arriving at Mohammedia, we entered a new world, not least starting with the bureaucracy of arriving by sea. However the people are so welcoming and friendly that it is borne with good humour.
After a couple of nights at anchor just outside the harbour, we moved on to El Jadida. Even more bureaucratic! But the town is a glorious assault on the senses. Crowds of people, pavements overflowing with food and goods, and very friendly people. It is a shame to have to move on, but we have to to get our sister and nephew to the airport on time later in the week.
Very exciting guys! It’s crazy to think you’ve now sailed to flippin’ Africa! Keep the updates coming.
