Life & Travels Afloat in our Moody

Bush break

DSC07296 (2)For another weekend off, we drove back up to Madikwe, a game reserve on the border with Botswana. This was the same lodge we visited last year, so no need for any description this time. The beauty of the setting continues to amaze, and we were lucky to not only see the Big 5 again, but also some real rarities including a carical and a serval, wild cats even harder to find than leopards. But the highlight for us was the sighting of the leopard in a tree. So close, so graceful and yet so deadly to other creatures, as evidenced by the bundle of fur hanging in another tree, all that remained of a smaller wild cat.

Also there was the elephant that decided to demolish a tree rather than just reach up to eat, and the myopic rhinos that wandered up to the Land Rover to see what sort of creature it was, close or what! DSC07019

So here are a few photos…..
