Life & Travels Afloat in our Moody

Final Prep

Despite having overloaded the boat when we left the UK, there always seems to be a shedload of ‘stuff’ to take out with the inevitable Ryanair challenge. Somehow we need to get the bits of stainless steel, fittings and books, etc, on board without getting hit for excess charges. All getting a bit tight now as we fly back to Lanzarote on Monday, have one job done on the boat on Tuesday, and then head off to Las Palmas to be there by Wednesday late afternoon to join the ARC Rally.

Just to make life easier for Annemarie, I had to have a minor operation few days ago that means I am not allowed to lift anything for 3 weeks. The timing just works, but is not ideal 😦

Think I will just practice with lifting a wine glass to start with…….

Hi Hazel. ARC stands for Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. It is an annual gathering of sailors organised by the World Cruising Club, and meets up in Las Palmas to set out together. About 250 yachts make the passage ‘in company’, but it is virtual companionship due to the different boat performances and the distance.

Can I follow you on the yellow brick app as an individual boat or can I only keep track of your location after the rally starts? Xx

You should be able to see us as an individual boat by following the ‘Current Location’ tabs on this blog.

The ARC Rally has a map that will show all the boats, which will use the Yellowbrick app.
